County to Kick Off “Be Active Montgomery!” Campaign

The County's new "Be Active Montgomery!" outreach
campaign promotes health and wellness through recreation and leisure
activities. The free kick-off event will include a 3/4 mile "senior
walk" on the Heart Smart trail at 10:00am, an 11am-"family walk,"
and a 1pm "family bike and trike." Also included will be healthy food
vendors and interactive demonstrations such as Quick Start tennis, Zumba and
golf clinics. Attendees who complete a fitness challenge will recieve free
admission to the miniature golf course at the South Germantown
Recreation Park
and the Germantown Outdoor Pool located at 18905 Kingsview Drive. For

summer with tips from Holy
Cross Hospital
and the Germantown Library. This event is designed for expectant families,
parents and children of all ages. Learn how to improve your overall health and
wellness through free health screenings, participate in interactive fitness
class demonstrations, and hear lectures on child safety and food safety in warm
temperatures. Information on community health resources and library services
and arts and crafts for children will also be provided. Health SCREENINGS are
FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED on the day of the event!
