On January 27, AAHI attended the Vietnamese Lunar New Year “Tet” Festival
hosted by the Association of Vietnamese Americans (AVA), formerly known as
Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association or MVMA. The day was filled with a
variety of cultural festivities. At the AAHI outreach table, health education was provided to event attendees on several
important health topics such as breast cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis,
patient-physician communication, and local resources in English and Vietnamese.
AAHI also used the Wheel of Health Education to inform the Vietnamese community
on hepatitis B. Many attendees enjoyed spinning the wheel and winning giveaway
prizes for answering the questions!
