New Job Opportunities at AAHI!

AAHI is seeking two highly organized and motivated individuals to fill our Program Assistant and Behavioral Health Program Coordinator II positions!

The Program Assistant will provide office and administrative support services for AAHI. Responsibilities include: scheduling, visitor and phone reception, data entry and management, office supply procurement, board and committee support, meeting/event management and coordination, and invoice processing.

The Behavioral Health Program Coordinator II will help increase awareness and provide education on behavioral health and related services to County residents. Responsibilities include: creating education materials, attending outreach events, organizing trainings for Health Promoters and behavioral health providers, conducting literature review and promising practices research, and networking with behavioral health providers/organizations.

Recap: KCSC ACT B Vaccination #2 Day

On June 28th, the Korean Community Service Center (KCSC) held their Vaccination #2 Day as part of their Active Care and Treatment of Hepatitis B (ACT B) Project. Community members were able to receive the second vaccination out of the three-part series. They also had a chance to stop by AAHI's Resource Information Table as they waited. We provided information on a variety of topics like breast cancer, hepatitis B, and local resources.

To commemorate July as National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Montgomery County (NAMI MC) is hosting a panel discussion comprised of community and faith leaders from diverse groups to talk about the role of faith in access to mental health resources. Specifically, they will discuss how places of faith - especially in minority communities - are often the first point of contact when it comes to seeking this type of help.
