Recap: Recent Outreach Events!

On October 5th, our Resource Coordinator and intern went to the 16th School Community United in Partnership (SCUP) Conference in Rockville. Counselors and administrators from Montgomery County Public Schools came together to learn more about resources for students and families in the school system. This conference served as an opportunity for AAHI to share our multilingual health education resources on a variety of topics. We had some great conversations with key school personnel about our mental health photonovels!

Later on in the week, we joined the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation (GGSF) for their 5th Annual Health Fair in Rockville. The event provided free health advice and counseling from leading physicians on cancer, diabetes, heart disease, in addition to many other health topics. Screening services were also available. The first 250 attendees had the opportunity to receive free blood tests and flu vaccinations.

AAHI provided bone density screenings, as well as general health education, to a number of community members.
