Another great event!

On Sunday, September 19th, AAHI conducted a health fair at the Wat Thai Temple in Silver Spring. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor health fair. AAHI staffers Sanjana and Atyya were in attendance along with intern Karishma Dhru. AAHI Health Promoter veterans Leigh, Visvas, and Chi, attended along with new Health Promoters Betty, Jameela, Shristi and Jira. It was a wonderful event, AAHI was able to screen and educate over 100 people. AAHI provided bone density screenings and worked with a Thai community physician to provide oral cancer screenings. In addition, AAHI provided education on osteoporosis, hepatitis B, diabetes and cancer. AAHI also signed women up for low-cost breast cancer screenings.

We would like to thank the Wat Thai Temple and Thai Alliance of America for partnering to host this health fair. In addition, we would like to thank our community vendors for joining at this fruitful event- Luis Martinez from Montgomery County's Department of Health & Human Services, Lourdes Sanchez from Womens Cancer Control Program, and Dr. Usa for conducting oral cancer screenings.
