On Saturday, February 16, AAHI participated in the 6th Annual Heart Health Screening & Education Event. The African American Health Program and the Holy Cross Hospital Community Health Department celebrated Heart Health Month by hosting an event where participants received free screenings for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, oral cancer, glaucoma, and vision. AAHI provided carbon monoxide screenings and educated community members on health topics breast cancer, diabetes, and patient-physician communication as well as local resources.
