Recap: Recent Outreach Events!

AAHI attended three outreach events in the community this past week!

On Sunday May 22, in honor of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett's Asian Pacific American Advisory Group and the Office of Community Partnerships hosted the Community Resource Fair for community members to learn about local resources available. AAHI provided information on general health issues that are prevalent in the Asian American community and attendees were interested in our Wheel of Health Education on mental health.

On Wednesday May 25, AAHI attended the Rockville Senior Center Health Fair. Their health fair offered a variety of health information and services. The event was well attended and many attendees stopped by our Resource Table. Our Health Promoters provided education on several health topics including cancer, osteoporosis, heart health, mental health, and doctor-patient communication.

Then on this past Saturday May 28, AAHI joined the Asian Community Health Fair hosted by Epoch Times. AAHI was able to provide outreach and education on topics such as hepatitis B, blood pressure, diabetes, and mental health. The Wheel of Health Education on mental health was a big hit!

Thank you Asian Pacific American Advisory Group and the Office of Community Partnerships, Rockville Senior Center, and Epoch Times for having us at your health fairs!

  1. Thanks a lot for sharing these reviews from recent Outreach Events as these seem to be great. I like attending such shows and will be attending a similar event next week at local event venues LA. Have high expectations from it.
