Recap: Past Outreach Events

On June 7th, AAHI joined the Latino Health Initiative (LHI) for their Ama Tu Vida Multicultural Festival in Silver Spring. Ama Tu Vida is a campaign that aims to promote wellness and encourage community members to adopt life-long healthy habits to improve their physical, emotional, and spiritual health. The event featured over 50 vendors, free medical screenings, wellness information, and live entertainment. AAHI's Resource Information Table offered a variety of health information on topics like breast cancer, hepatitis B, and osteoporosis.

Later that week, on June 10th, AAHI attended an event in support of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Wheaton. This event was hosted by the Montgomery County Elder/Vulnerable Adult Abuse Task Force and included several speakers and demonstrations on elder abuse/exploitation, emergency preparedness/home safety, and senior resources in Montgomery County. AAHI Health Promoters and staff provided general health information to community members who stopped by our Resource Information Table.

Thank you to LHI and the Montgomery County Elder/Vulnerable Adult Abuse Task Force for two wonderful days of outreach!
