Recap: Spring Health Expo & Mental Health Launch

On May 3rd, AAHI joined the Asian Indians for Community Service, Inc. (AICS) for their Spring Health Expo in Silver Spring. There were several vendors that provided a variety of free health care services for adults and senior citizens. Community members had a chance to get their blood tested, receive health screenings, and learn more about different health topics. At our Resource Information Table, we provided general health information and bone density screenings.

At this event, AAHI also had a special opportunity to unveil our recently created mental health projects, a multilingual photonovel and video. Over 50 people attended our launch! Special guests included a representative for Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Maryland State Delegate Susan Lee, Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, Montgomery County Councilmember Roger Beliner, and Montgomery County Department of Health & Human Services Director Uma Ahluwalia. A huge thank you goes out to all the organizations and individuals who contributed their time and support to making these projects a success!
