The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services' Asian American Health Initiative, in partnership with the African American Health Program and the Latino Health Initiative, would like to invite you and your colleagues to participate in a free training workshop as part of the Empowering Community Health Organizations (E.C.H.O.) Project 2015.
Mental Health in Our Communities II
Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2014
Time: 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm (A light dinner will be provided at 5:30 pm and the program will begin at 6:00 pm)
Location: Silver Spring Civic Building, Great Hall at One Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910
This free workshop will provide a brief recap of our previous "Mental Health in Our Communities" workshop, which gave an overview of mental health, its disparities, and support services in Montgomery County. It will also delve deeper into how mental health affects both the mind and body. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how their communities perceive mental health as well as ways to reduce linguistic and cultural barriers in order to increase access to services.
