Save the Date! - "Mental Health in Our Communities" Workshop

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services' African American Health Program, Asian American Health Initiative, and Latino Health Initiative would like to invite you and your colleagues to participate in a free training workshop as part of the Empowering Community Health Organizations (E.C.H.O.) Project 2014.

Launched in May 2011, E.C.H.O. is a series of practical and professional training workshops which aim to empower community organizations to develop culturally and linguistically sensitive health programming. Our most recent workshop was attended by approximately 120 individuals representing about 60 non-profit, civic, academic, community-based, and faith-based organizations. If you would like to learn more about our previous workshop, please visit the following link: The Affordable Care Act in the Capital Region: How to Enroll

The "Mental Health in Our Communities" workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. A light dinner will be provided at 5:30 pm and the program will begin at 6:00 pm. The workshop will take place at the Silver Spring Civic Building, Great Hall at One Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

This free workshop will provide an overview of mental health, its disparities, and support services in Montgomery County. Participants will have the opportunity to share their communities' experiences with accessing mental health services.

Registration is required and space is limited. Please register by Friday, May 9, 2014. You can complete the registration form by clicking here or by calling Shannon Lee, AAHI Office Services Coordinator, at 240-777-4517.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Lee via telephone or email at Shannon.Lee@montgomerycountymd.gov. We hope you join us in building a healthier community!
